This was written for  my sister when she turned fifty.  

Unfortunately, I got there first.

Half a century...The big five-oh
It all means just the same.
You're all washed up!  Gone over the hill!
Old age has called your game.

Now the wrinkles blossom forth;
now the gray cells wane.
Now just moving from your bed
brings stiffness, aches and pain.

But wait for just a minute here,
your life's not all that bad.
With all the things that fill your day,
you've no time to be sad.

Besides, there's many perks you'll find
to being over fifty.
You can blame each blunder on your age
and the discounts can be nifty!
