"Lighthouse"

My cousin fell in love with the "Lighthouse" background
and wanted to give it as a gift to a friend who collected
them.  She requested a poem to go with it.

Lighthouse

You are a beautiful antiquity,
a stately reminder of our past,
when courageous men rode sailing ships
through perilous waters dark and vast.

Slim, golden fingers felt their way
across the water's raging wrath.
Warning weary, sea-worn sailors
of the dangers in their path.

Your light reminds us of our Lord
and how He guides us to His side.
Our safe haven through life's trials,
where our strength and hope abide.
