Heavenly Friends

Right after I wrote "Adopted Child" a customer said that her
adopted boy was a five year old ball of fire. So I wrote a special
poem for her. Actually, this could be suitable for any "active" child.

"One more child for us to love"
That's what we asked of God above
Two small hands for us to teach
A willing heart and mind to reach
We wanted someone sweet and true
God in his wisdom gave us to you
We thought, "A tender heart to groom"
God thought, "Strong arms and lots of room"
With stubborn chin and guarded eyes
You seemed to cynical, too wise
We wanted someone to instruct...
God gave to us a semi-truck!
Hectic days and sleepless nights
Giggles, tears and pillow fights
With courage, faith and will of steel
You touched our hearts and always will
It's good that God decided who
would fill our lives...for it was you!
